Hi Daniel.. I'm glad that you are writing and asking for help. Remember what Im about to tell you: The HARDEST part is starting. Once you have put in about a week of a good routine, you will feel so good about yourself NOTHING and NO ONE will stop you from continuing! You will fight anyone who tries to put you off of your game. First, are you familiar with youtube? Of course you are. Look up Mindshift, it is a motivational set of short, 5 minute videos. Some are listed under "Ping pong," they are amazing and will invigorate your determination. Second: write down all the foods you know are healthy and you like on one side of a page. Are the foods you normally eat on that page? You DESERVE to love your body. Having a body you're comfortable with --allows you to be more of your true self. It gives you the freedom to not think about your pants! That's what I loved the most when I lost weight: I NO lONGER had to think about my clothes, how I looked to other people.I could think about what I wanted to, I could feel that others would judge my ideas and actions based on their own merit -- not through the fat prejudice that exists in this country. You are young, start today. End the days when your weight is in charge of you. You take charge. I wish you well! Let me know how you are doing! Andrea

My son has always been in great physical shape. Always very skinny, healthy, athletic. About 6 months ago and almost as if overnight, he had quickly grown a very generous amunt of subcutaneous belly fat and a set of belly rolls and fattened nipples. He basically didn't feel like doing any of the sports he was the team captain or a lead position on and decided to get lazy, eat more snacks than any person could ever need and lay in bed and play his xbox. Within 4 months my boy had put on over 40 pounds. He couldn't even run with me and his mom because he'd start huffing and puffing and just struggle to move his own body, he'd just put on so much fat that the poor kid would run and his giant pot belly would bounce up and down and weigh him down so he could barely breathe....it was sad to see how quickly he'd fattened himself up, but we didn't want to force him to stop feeding himself enough food for 10 people.... It really started to bother him when his tshirts and clothes got so tight on him that the poor thing couldn't even button up his pants and his shirts were nearly all skin tight.... I remember taking his friends to the beach and his friends actually started asking him how much he weighs now, if he minds it since he was always athletic and he'd grown so doughy and chunky... and basically the three of them told him how shocked they were to their baseball/soccer/football/basketball teammate and their good friend become so heavy and just so fat and out of shape....I didn't say a word but I knew that my boy didn't like being the bloated ex-athlete friend, and he sure hated his friends pinching his fat rolls that covered up every last bit of his formerly thin body. He asked me the next week if I would help him to start exercising. I said, I'll get him working out but he had to stop buying 5/6 or more snacks and scarfing in as much fattening junk as he'd been putting away. He really tried his best to work out but it was hard to get that belly off of him, even after six months of running, climbing, biking, lifting, and playing a little bit of soccer he's definitely gotten more fit, and his face arms and legs have toned up but he's still sporting a round little pot belly, probably 15lbs, but he just tries to suck it in to try and stop his belly from poking out especially because he feels a lot more confident that all his friends think he's back in perfect shape when hes in clothes....he knows he doesn't have the discipline to stop feeding that wicked appetite of his but he understand that his weight is his responsibility.
