In January I posted here to talk about my daughter. At the time she weighed in at 282 pounds. It is now June and when she was weighed in March she was 294 pounds. One week ago she came to me and said that she had taken a pregnancy test and it came out positive. The issue of her and her boyfriend being pregnant at 16 is a whole separate topic. My main concern now is that she is probably around 300+ pounds(last time i knew her weight was march)at only 16 years old and now has to carry a baby for 9 months. It is dangerous to be pregnant and obese. I can't even see a "baby bump" yet because it all still looks like fat. When we went to the OBGYN she expressed concern over her weight and warned my daughter that it would be dangerous for her to gain too much weight during the pregnancy. The problem is she continues to eat like she always has and when I tell her to stop she says she's eating for two. I need her to start exercising or there will be no way that she will be able to walk soon with a even larger baby in her belly. If she isn't in shape it will be terrible for her to try and push a baby out and even worse for a C-section. Her boyfriend is also overweight and doesn't encourage her to eat healthy for their child. At her massive weight I already see her struggle to do normal things like walk, take the stairs, tie shoes, bend over and I can't imagine how much worse it will be as she grows. She already has trouble breathing and I'm terrified of what this baby will do to her body.

Have you taken your daughter to see a doctor yet? The doctor should be able to monitor your daughter's health and that of her unborn child. As you know, eating healthy and exercise are something the doctor will stress to her. Good luck and please let us know how your daughter is doing
