Most overweight kids appreciate parents who are good role models (eat healthy foods and exercise regularly) and listen to the difficulties their children may be experiencing in life. Overeating can often start as a way to deal with unpleasant emotions, so providing alternative activities and empathizing with their daily struggles can often help.
