Hi! I have posted here about my 10 year old daughter, who has a weight problem. Well, she refused to be weighted and so I don't weight her. Well she spend the last weekend at her fathers house and he weighted her. My daughter weights now 217 pounds at 4'9. She told me, she is very embarrased about her weight and is upset about her father weighting her. I told her we will do something about her weight in January and she was quite happy. But since last weekend she has been eating constantly.

Chances are since she's told you she feels bad about her weight, she's upset and eats to compensate for feeling the way she does. You need to get her up and moving! Do things with her, together! They don't have to be about her weight! Dance with her, or learn to jump rope. Buy pilates or yoga DVDs and do them together. It's wonderful for exercise and will get her off the couch. Plus it's great bonding for the both of you. Best wishes!

Hi Laura. I know how hard it can be raising a severely overweight child. Both my daughters are too. It can be hard just to find someone who understands what you're going through. 217 lbs is definitely very big for a 10 yr old girl. If you need someone to talk to about your daughter's weight problem please feel free to email me at BeautifulContraption @ hotmail.com (without the spaces). You can IM me on Messenger too if you want.
