So i took my daughter shopping....she's a size 12 in womens. she weighs like 150-157 around there. i told her she should lose weight. she just put on weight like crazy.she has one huge fat roll and one small fat roll. i gave her a binkini and we went to the pool but when she sat down from the side her stomach was like two times the size of mine. she has a little double chin. im jsut worried my little girl is going to turn into a bigger fatter person when she's older. does anybosy have any comments or tips i can give to her? she's tried dieting and it doesnt seem to help much. she runs a lot, walks a lot, and does situps a lot. i jsut need tips that really work. comments?

Your a terrible parent! critisizing your daughter! I'm 12 and I know i would HATE to have a parent like you! Try going on diet with her and exersizing WITH her!

you're a horrible parent. i feel so bad for your poor daughter, because she has to deal with you. so what if she's chunky? not everyone is a swimsuit model. love her for who she is, if that's not too difficult for you. do you just sit on your butt and think about this 24/7? get a life hunny.

Ok i am 13 and i dont think that you should critisize your daughter about her weight, because my mom did that and i put on a lot of weight but now i am only 130 and i am 5'5'' and i have a lot of muscle start by taking junk food out of the house and suggesting different choices such as walking with her asking her and her friends if they want to go on a bike ride, whatever you can do to get her active. I lost my weight on my own and even though i didnt lose very much i gained a lot of muscle.

Okay I'm 15 and I am overweight. I'm 5'6 and 173.5 lbs. I used to be 186.5 I have lost 12.5 pounds since July 16th. I became overweight around the age of 12, and people told me all the time that I was so cute if only I could lose a little weight. You don't need to tell your daughter to lose weight if she is already doing all these things, I guarentee you she KNOWS she isn't the same size as a lot of her friends. You can't make her want to lose weight, she needs to want that for herself. You help her see why she might enjoy it (for health reasons). What are her hobbies? Does she like any sports? Does she like music, because dance is great for being active indoors. The best thing you can do is eat meals with her and support her. Make sure your daughter is informed about Healthy eating and the four food groups. I can not stress enough that the best way to help her would be to love and nurture her both emotionally(hugs, kisses and praise) and physically (eat with her, teach her, support her). Good Luck to you and your daughter:)

Maybe you can try limmiting her food. Like giving her a little less not a lot. It is also important to drink lots of water, (with exersize in between). If she wants a snack tell her to drink a bottle of water. Water welll fill you up. Hope it will help.
