Hi my son is 7 years old, and weights about 135-140
he is very tall for his age,last measured he was 4'9
he sees doctors all the time,they do not know why he
is as big as he is. He is a very active boy, plays
basketball twice a week, karate 6 days a week,plus
he sparsin karate. He does not watch much tv, maybe
an hour a day,he has high colestrol,insulin
resistance, hypertention, if anyone has any ideas on
how I can help my son please let me know. He is
already on a special diet. He wants to be like other
kids his age,he does have alot of friends who try to
help him.I just want him to be happy and enjoy life
not always worry about his weight.

You can't force your Child to exersize or do anything they don't want to. You can limit time spent on the computer or watching TV. Try and find some cool music your kids like and ask them to do an aerobic workout with the music on. Try and eat healthy foods most of the time and don't eat fast food if you can avoid it. also try to talk to your child and make them aware that there are health risks associated with being over weight.
