My son is only 11 and already weighs over 175. He is only 5'2 so as you can imagine he is getting dangerously large. I don't know what to do. He just eats non-stop, which i guess is partially my fault. He just eats sweets and junk food all day long. He hardly ever goes outside, and just sits inside and watches tv...and gets fatter! What should I do?

tell your child he can only watch an hour or so of tv a day and take all the sweets outside of the house and replace them with fruit. You need to help him by making healthier meals. Put him in a sports camp, take him to the lake to swim. Turn excersize into a fun activity and do it often, this will help so much you wont even bellieve it! p.s. you should listen to the teens who try to give you advice (what u just got was from a 13 yr. old.) yeah me! I'm 13!

Don't buy junk food or jiggle his tummy to show him how much fat he has on him.

I feel for you...and know how you feel. I, too, am at a loss as to what to do about my 13 year old son's weight problem. He has no interest in sports or anything remotely related to moving. He plays guitar, flute, and piano, and spends endless hours at the computer composing music. Sure, this stuff is great, but he just keeps getting heavier and heavier. I estimate he's 20-30 lbs overweight and now he's getting depressed about it. The depression keeps him from socializing and makes him eat more. I feel totally helpless...
