She might have a medical condition that is stopping her from losing weight. Or, you think her eating habits are better than they really or and you think that she's exercising more than she really is. Ask your doctor for help for both of these possibilites. *Ray*Ray*

Hi, my name is Adrienne, I am a nutrition student at Ohio University. I dont have children but i have some adivse that might help you and your daughter. She may not appear to be eating poorly but when you dive deeper you may find she is. Start to look at labels, if there is partially hydroginated anything, dont eat it, if there is more than 5% saturated fat, dont eat it. Cut back to skim milk, only drink 100% juice and only drink juice RARELY! Cut back on cheese and red meat (to help cut out saturated 'bad' fat) focus on vegetables (NOT CANNED!) and WHOLE GRAINS, keep away from enriched flour. Keep her active (like you said you are, good job) and motivate her to take pride in her body and only put 'good' food into her body. I hope this helps ~Adrienne

Hi Krystal,
My name is Susan and I am going through the same situation you are. I went through 3 doctors and finally the fourth doctor made me feel like there is hope. He referred me to a book called Trim Kids. It is full of good information. I am enjoying the book and it has started working for me and my daughter. She has lost a pound and a half in 3 weeks. You obviously love your daughter very much. Give the book a try, I really did enjoy it and me and my daughter are on the program together. If you need some support, you can e-mail me at suzavon33@yahoo.com. Take care.

One of the greatest things you can do for your daughter is lead by example. Keep the house full of healthy fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins. She will see you eating this way. Keep the higher calorie stuff out. There's a chance she may sneak food, so if you keep the junk out you know she won't be getting very much. Also, watch what she (and your family) is drinking. Everyone should drink water or milk. No juice or soda. Keep the activity up and limit the TV time. She maybe learning about food from the TV which is not good. Lastly, do not give up! At 6, she is growing like crazy. She may still gain weight since she is growing yet gain at a much slower rate. You have already made her body healthier by the choices you have made. Keep it up!
