I think my child has an eating disorder. i have not confroted her about this because i do not want her to be upset with me. She is not super thin but i don't think she is overweight either. I not sure if it is very serious but she ALWAYS talks about her weight. She wants to diet all the time but i see her eating. i know she has thrown up before but i don't know if she does this regularly. She is 5 feet tall, 12 years old, and weighs 109 pounds. she is a dancer as well. she takes Ballet, Jazz, and Modern. I think she could be on the very brink of an eating disorder.
I dont know what to do.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She's definately not underweight, but not overweight either. Just watch her...and if she throws up a lot you should be worrying

Have her doctor intervene and continue to look out for signs. *Ray*Ray*

Hi I was a dancer for 7 years and it is very stressful, many ballet teachers stress being thin and will pick out fat on thier students bodies. If you are able, watch a ballet session and see if her teacher is doing this, if you are unable talk to her instructor and let her know that your daughter is beign self conscious of her weight. She is at a healthy BMI (body mass index) she is probably just self consious and needs positive reasurance. Start educating yourslef with your daughter about food and its BENEFITS like whole grain, vegetables etc. I hope this helps!

does she work out nonstop and is always thinking about eating fruits and veggies?? i used to be anorexic make sure she isnt wearing a red or purple braclet red is anorexic and purple is bulimic, just because she isnt wearing one does not mean she isnt...dont confront her about it yet once you have actually heard her throw up a couple of times or actually have seen her not eat a couple of times, like make excuses like i already ate i dont feel good all that kind of thing. i know its probably hard because she goes to school all day and you dont know if she has or hasnt eaten but just look out for signs before you confront her because otherwise she may feel like your spying on her and she may not trust you....

besides her being 109...which for her height is healthy and being a dancer what else does she do with food? does she pick at it, plays with it, takes little bites, takes hours to eat a normal size meal, counts calories???
