yes, my son is seventeen, and he weighs 430 lbs, the doctor says hes in good health, but i still wonder sometimes, i mean im a big guy myself but he puts me to shame, i dont think its right for a father to recieve cloths that his son has outgrown, but at the same time hes happy, he has a very active social life, and lots of friends, so i dont know what to think.thanks for reading.

Your MD is giving you poor advice! MD's get maybe one nutrition class in med school and they are intimidated to deal with weight issues. I would get a second opinion and continue to do so until you have an MD who shows concern. Very common for this to happen but you need to take charge of your childs health.

wow thats big for a kid his age... i kno my aunt is pretty big like that and she does nothin and shes gained like 100-150 lbs in the last 5 yrs!! i really would not like to see that happen to your son... try to get him to go out to the movies wit his friends or just walk around town * the simple things matter* if u wanna chat sumtime i got yahoo aim and msn just read my post and then i will be in contact wit u GOOD LUCK

Hi, I'm 14, and even if he is healthy, will be be healthy in 10 years? He will probably just gain weight the rest off his life.
