Hi, my name is Colette. my daughter is 11 years old and just got weighed in at 236lbs when i talk to her about her weight she gets mad and cries and doesn't want to talk to me about it. I tell her that I am concerned and worried about her weight and know that it's hard at times but we really have to do something about it. I even showed her this web site and she said that she wasn't interested in it. I have video tapes and we are members of the ymca here in town, but swhe shows no interest. She even has a nutritionist but nothing seems to work. I am disabled and can't do a lot of the activities that regular parents can do with their child. PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME ADVISE on what to do. I can take some critizim if needed.

Of course you can be any size to be beautiful. I am well aware of that. I mean that not looking good as in healthy. You don't look healthy and being overweight isent healthy. I am not saying you must be 100 lbs to be beautiful. Frankly, I think people look better with an extra 10 lbs on anyways.

You shouldnt say that being fat makes u not look good. That is very rude, and immature. People dont have to be thin, or a model, to be beautiful.

The more you force her, the more she will resist. Basically you must tell it to her straight. Shes very overweight and she doesent look good. Your not doing this for yourself or any reason of that matter. Your doing it for her health becuase she will gain more weight and it will be harder to loose it when she's older. Also, tell her its her life and she can make the choices but tell her she wont be making them too much longer if she doesent act soon. I know what I am saying is extreamly harsh but it will send a signal to your daughters head and hopefully change her habbits. I wish you the best of luck.

Is it that she doesnt want to lose weight, or she hates that u try to force her to lose? Try to sit her down, and tell her how dangerous it is to be overweight. Heres my email so she can email me.
