my child is very over weight and she is excersizing but she doesnt listen to me or get motivated my me cause myslef am over weight and i feel as though she thinks it is ok to be over weight, i need to find a way to motivate her though because right now she is about 100 lbs overweight and has a graduation dance/party in june and would like to wear a beautiful dress to it, but she needs to lose weight inorder to look even ok in one. what cani do to motivate her/ and if any of the smaller parents please tell me how you worked off weight, Maybe my weightloss would be helpful to her thank you

you should lose weight together!1 come man! you jog, she jogs, you eat heathily, she does too. And if you dont want to lose weight, then what kind of message is that to her?

Now, Don't take this the wrong way, but, it sounds to me like you want your daughter to lose want for yourself, not for her. Did you ever think that mabye she isn't motivated because she dosn't find anything wrong with herself, and likes herself the way she is?? If I were you I would talk to her and ask her if she accepts herself the way she is, and if she does, than that's great, there is nothing wrong with her if she feels confident and accepts herself, but if you constinly tell her that she needs to lose wieght than that might be hurting her and making herself more and more self-concsise, she might even hate you for it. This also puts her at serious risk for such things as suicde later on. Now, I don't mean to scare her, but if at one day she relizes that she needs to lose wieght because she is feeling realling terrible about herself than that is when you need to do something about it, and truly be there for her. By all means go ahead and lose your weight for yourself, that might wake her up and motivate her to get going on her own weight lose. But don't push her into making herself self conscince because your really harming her than doing her any good, in my opinon.

WHat i did was i bought my daughter a pilates video and she did that and then got motivated and lost 30 pounds

If you give your child a nice lunch to take to school and a healthy meal she will be fine. If she is hungry give her carrot sticks and in ehr lunch add in things like grapes oranges apples and rasins. It will make the difference!
