My 11 year old daughter is overweight. She is about 5ft tall and weighs about 135 Lbs. I am very concerned about her. She gets so madd when I try to talk to her about it. Her best friend is a twig and when we go shopping for clothes and her friend comes she starts to cry about it because her friend can buy clothes and they wont have my daughters size. I tried to tell her that if she would stop eating so much junk food then she woldnt have this problem. I think she eats when she is bored or upset. She gets it from me. I dont know what to do without hurting her feelings. Can somone help me PLEASE.

If your daughter wants her friend to come along shopping with you guys let her but if she doesn't dont force her. Also I think you should sit down with her and have a little heart to heart by being honest but not mean to hurt her feelings.

Oh the things we females go through, first off, do not take her friend clothes shopping make it that mom n me time and maybe just take her friend to a movie instead, when somebody tells me to stop eating junk food, I usually go full force, instead, tell her she is beautiful in everyway and that there are full figured ladies out here that have confidence in their appearance, I guess what I am trying to say is, if you build her up, she may just stay away from the fridge.. (I am a full figured mom) and I know, when I hear nice things about myself. It really is an ego boost. Don't forget to surf the internet for plus size clothing for young ladies, they are out there, and JcPenney does have some trendy up-to-date clothes. If you(mom) can find some magazines of plus size ladies, let her read them, they do help out. Just remind her that beauty doesn't start at a size 2 Good luck!!
