hi everyone, my daughter is 8yrs and weighs about 112lbs. i don't let her pig out on junk food but does eat some. she's a very outgoing child she likes to go for walks, ride her bike, swim, rollerblade and do just about anything that sounds like fun. we eat as healthy as possible. she likes fruit, vegetables, yogurt, lowfat pudding, sugerfree jello, etc, ect... so we eat a lot of good things. except for white bread, white rice, noodles, and loves mashed potatoes. i know that thoughs are not the best choices. i would like her to learn to try other breads so i don't have to buy white bread. does anyone have any ideas that might be helpful? thanks.

Try Nature's Own Light bread. It comes in different brands like honey wheat, wheat...etc.

i don't cook with salt, or butter.i use the cooking spray or very little oil. i try not to use oil. i know that its better to bake, grill, or broil. i will try switching to splenda though. there is a carbornated water at walmart called all clear(sams choice) she likes thoughs verses soda. so i buy those often.

My daughter is 9 years old. I had to limit her salt, sugar and starch intake. Instead of cooking with salt, I am using the Morton lite salt. I have substituted Splenda for sugar and she is intaking more water and fresh fruits and veggie. Absolutely no softdrinks. There is a flavored carbonated water Crystal Bay that she has substituted. You will be amazed at the difference.
