My daughter is 11 years old and she wieghs 197 pounds every night she cries herself to sleep, and all of her friends make fun of her, so she has no friends. She has tried everything possible, but it just does'nt seem to work. She also wants to fit into a beautiful dress. What should I do for her???

Talk to her! Decide together what habits can be changed. Just remember, change comes in small steps. Add more fruits and vegies....then cut down on the starches...then cut down on the portion sizes...then increase activity - SLOWLY. When she sees she is controlling the changes, she will take control of herself. My daughter and I came to this site a month ago (almost). At that point, we had added salads for lunch & dinner, yogurt for breakfast, and leave 1 bite on your plate each night. She helps me plan the menus now. We also increased the activity. If she wants a "diet pop", she has to ride to bike to the store to get it. At home, we don't keep that here. Noodles are only once or twice a week now (and that really hurts me :() but it helps her. Good luck!

you should try to keep track of what kind of food she is eating and portion size. Make her go outside just to walk for an hour or just to hang out do fun active stuff nothing stressful like a trendmill or situps losing weight for kids should be fun. if its fun they will always want to do it.
