Ok, sorry i'm not a parent (i'm 16). i'm sad and hopeless and desperate since all my family (me + mom + older sister) is overweight. the problem is, my mom doesn't care about it - she's extremely sedentary all her life and buys junk food too. she doesn't let me exercise too - says that looks are not important (maybe that's why my dad divorced)and i should focus on school and academics.i hate her 4 this - talk to her every freakin day- she doesn't understand. i can't do much against her, but she makes me wanna die. i'm very lonely and have no friends.i'm considering running away or going to foster home. plzzz help.

Have you tried honestly talking with your mom? If you can't do that, is there an adult mentor you feel comfortable talking with? Those would be my 1st 2 suggestions. I have a daughter dealing with weight issues also. I am here looking for answers, and if you are here, you are making the steps you need to understand it yourself. We all have to understand before we can make anyone else understand.
