Hello to everyone my name is Janette and I have three children .I am concerned with children's weight problems and what they are going through because I too was an overweight child and adult. I have been doing a lot of reading, I am now reaching the posiablity of opening a childrens health center to help parent, and children like you all learn about safe and healthy ways of controlling weight thru diet and exercise. What I want to know is if there is a need for such a place and if you would take advantage of such a program

Absolutley!!!! The problem I seem to have is that when looking in cookbooks or magazines for lower fat and such foods to eat, I look at it and think I know my kids wouldn't want to eat it if I can't even make out what it is!! I would like to find some recipes and ideas on cooking nutritious "kid friendly foods" This is just an idea of what you could include in your program. I think there are a lot of other parents out there at a loss too. Good luck to you.

yes there is a great need for such a placei would use it. many parents think we dont care, but the issue is we dont have someplace to go. adults have a gym i wouldnt mind going to do the aerobics and the machine but to have adults staring at you and plus you are not allowed in there so it would be a fantastic thing to have kids like me do some exercise at our own are very smart, considerate and creative to come up with such an idea. could you ,if you are going to live up to it make it in ney york. maybe near or in long island or just in new york or have more than one, if not good luck anyway.

I would take advantage of any program that could help my overweight daughter. I have been asking doctors for two years about my daughter's problems. They said it was no problem. She would out grow it. She has steadily gained. We are finally seeing a dietician on Monday Febuary 24. I would have loved to have found a place that might have helped. Hope you reach your goal and blessings to you.

hi janette, i would get involved in a program if one was available to me. I hate seeing kids suffer. i see alot of overweight kids in my daughter's school and its hard to tell what other parents do about the probrem. But i now am much more aware of what i serve my children. Its all about portion sizes, and keeping them moving. I allow my kids junk food only sometimes and i do not bring boxes of cupcakes or cookies in the house. if they have them i buy the single serving sizes it works out better.
