Ht. 5'3, Wt. 216 - hi everyone. Ok this is gonna sound stupid but I need some advice. I am on birthcontrol and I have gained 16 pounds in 3 months. They said it would happen but I just can't loose weight . I'm not sure what diet to do or what exercise. Sometimes I think I will stay this way forever. I don't want to be fat I want to live a happy life and be normal . Not super skinny just normal. If anyone can help please do.

Hey. I'm on birth control also but I've lost weight as a result. I have done a lot of research on BC though, in attempts of preventing weight gain. I got this from a reliable website.
"The estrogen in the pill can cause weight gain due to increased breast, hip, or thigh tissue, usually after several months on the pill. This causes swollen ankles, breast tenderness, discomfort with contact lenses, or a weight gain of up to five pounds. Reducing your salt intake moderately can help control this type of water retention." If you're still concerned, remember to cut back on calories and get more exercise. Talk to your health care provider about switching to another birth control pill or method if you think it's possible that your pill is causing weight gain. Hope I helped.
