i want to join a gym. but i dont want to join a gym that has all those skinny people running around, i want a gym that has people like me trying to lose weight! a lot of gyms are chains, so any recommendations? and also, i want to be able to run outside in the mornings, i love to do that. my mom probably wont let me, how can i convince her? we have a treadmill, but running and not moving anywhere, lol. i need to be able to pass things as i run by.

join your local YMCA. they have like kickboxing and yoga and pilates classes as well as weight rooms, basketball courts, swimming pools, and way more stuff. make your whole family join, it costs like 30 dollars for your whole family for a year.

In the gym that I go to, I have seen like 3 people in my grade, and it is so annoying and embarrasing. Plus, I saw this teacher that I had in 7th grade 4 advisement, but I don't think she recognized me b/c of my hair (gotta love hair dye!). Sorry that this doesn't help, but I just had to say something! lol

My mother and I joined Curves. There was mostly elderly women there, but nonetheless they weren't skinny. And every now and then there was younger women. I felt comfortable there, not having anyone my age.
