Someone else on this site told us about an 8 week program that she is going on. It is supposed to help you run 2 miles without stopping in 8 weeks. I 'googled' 8 week running program, and I got the program too. I just started but I think it is going to be awesome!! Every week you build up a little more. You should try it.!

i started running in september and now im on the track team it took me about a month to run a mile at a good steady pace.. but i was doing about two a night so i dont know you could probably do it faster..music doesnt always help running because you might want to start singing and you cant or you will get out of breath but getting those books on tape is GREAT!! you get so into the book you dont even think about running
and do you know how to breath when you run so you dont get a raw/sore throat.??? well what you do is breath in through your nose and out through your mouth it takes a while to get into a good rythm of breathing but that is one of the most important things about running (keeping your breathing steady) i hope this helped....

Christina is totally right, you need to work your way up to jogging for a full mile. Its so cool that everyone is starting to jog on this site! Im gonna go out for my second ever "run" once it gets dark. hehe, i am not yet comfortable enough to run when its light out. Anyway, if you are a total beginner like me, then try what i am doing-first walk 10min to warm up, then jog for like 5 min, then walk for 5, and back and forth for however long you go out for. I dont have any way to measure the distance since i dont run on a track, so i just do the time. Good luck!

Hey, good for you if you want to go running. I sujest building up your running. Just push yourself a little more and more each time. At first, try a mile, then next time, try a mile and a half, then mabye wait a few more times and try 2 miles. Its the times that you push yourself when you will see results. And an MP3 player is great when jogging. When I go running, it helps me run better because you got some good tunes to lisen too!
