Hi, this is my 1st time here. I am 15 and used to weigh 165 lbs., but know i weigh 145. I'm having a very hard time looseing more. The way I lost 20 lbs. is by giving meat up for lent. I think im going to continue not eating meat and become a vegetarian. Does anyone have any tips on becoming a vegetarian or a vegan?

well, molly is wrong about the food pyramid, fruits and veggies and some grains are better. but u stll need protein. go for eggs, low fat pb, and meal replacements that r high in protein

to tell the truth I don't think becomeing a vegetarian is the right way to go because meat is the lowest fat, carb, and cal. food portion in the food perymid. My guess is that you did somthing else and didn't know it.

go for vegitarian and not vegan cuz being a vegan really takes crazy amounts of effort and totally limits what you can eat. Most ppl are true vegans cuz they really truely protest any animal cruelty and stuff. As for Lent, GREAT JOB! i dunno how you did it! I gave up meat too, but i only lost 5 lbs. But then again, i really dont eat very much meat to begin with...

I eat hardly any meat, I used to be a veggitarian. You shouldn't be a vegan, tho because then you can eat practically nothing!

you should google teen vegetarian and see what comes up. that's what i did and i got a lot of useful stuff. also, go to amazon.com and type in teen vegetarian. they have some really good books on there. a teen's guide to going vegetarian by judy krizmanic is good. it also has a cook book that goes along with it that has some really great recipes.

A lot of vegetarians to me dont look healthy because they dont get enough of the nutrients and enough vitamins that meat gives the body.. so as long as you talk lots of supplements of fiber, protein and stuff i think ull be fine. BUT REMEMBER just beacuse you are a vegetarian it doesnt mean ur going to be thin because ur body will get used to that way of eating too and wont allow u to lose n e more weight. I say keep the meat just cut what ur eating inhalf
