I live in a bad neighborhood, and I'm afraid to go out to walk or run and I don't know where to go or what else I could do to exercise. I used to have a big dog and people who didn't know him were scared of him so I felt safer going outside to exercise, bu twe had to give him away when we moved here because the landlord didn't allow it. Please Help!!!

i wouldnt go out alone! if your neigborhood seems unsafe, it probably is. "Sucking it up" and going out might be a big mistake. take a parent or friend, or get workout tapes to do inside. DONT EVER GO OUT ALONE

Hey -- I live in a terrible neighborhood too. At first I was terrified to go out running, but I sucked it up one day and just went. I run early in the morning, right after the sun comes up, which the safest time for my town. Try going with one other person a few times and if it seems to be okay, try going alone. You'll regret it if you don't.

If there are any running/walking tracks in your city, jog on those a few times a week. If not, think of other exersizes you could do such as jump-roping, jumping on a trampoline, bike riding, or swimming. Do what you like, and make it fun- not just because you think you need too. Good luck! ^_^
