Hey...um i'm not really overweight but i have a problem... My girlfriend is the sweetest person in the world...she's nice, smart, funny and She knows that I'll love her no matter what...She's a little overweight...I don't mind it but it really upsets her a lot. She's always talking about going on diets and sometimes she even starves herself... This really upsets me that she doesn't see in herself the beautiful, caring person that I see. I've offered to help her and sort of be like a "Diet buddy" but by the 2nd day in she gives up...I really want her to be happy...how are ways i can encourage her to loose weight or at least show her that she's beautiful just the way she is? Matt

wow, thats amazing, good for you! But i do see that you have a problem. I think you should really just keep supporting her- whatever that means to her. You can chose to convince her to not diet, and help her understand that she is beautiful the way she is. But as one of them, i can tell you that she may not agree with you. Teenage girls are VERY self concious, so maybe you should work to help her loose whatever weight she thinks she needs to loose. Whether it be 3lbs or 15. Support her, but make sure to make her feel good. Get in shape, NOT loose weight!!! and good luck. oh, and ps. once agian, youre awesome!

Well Matt, about 2 years ago I was struggling with bulimia and it really helped me that my boyfiend was sort of a mother figure. He would ask me almost everyday how I was feeling and if I was doing okay. He also would tell me all of the time that he would never change me and that he loved me for me. If your girlfriend is in anyway like I am when it comes to this kind of stuff she would probably appreciate it. I had lost 50 pounds before I had any problem with bulimia and he really knew how to be there for me. SO my advice is just keep telling her how much you love her and how beautiful she is. Good Luck!!!
