Has anyone ever tired cutting back on calories. I'm thinking about just doin 800 calories a day because I really really need to lose some weight!

Ok, just to keep your body alive and all of your organs working properly you need at least 500 calories. This is if you only going to lie in bed and do nothing everyday. Everything you do in life burns calories. Its not safe to go below 1000 on a daily basis. Its okay if one day you accidently go under but I dont reccomend going 800. The best diet plan is 1500 calories adn 30 grams of fat per day plus excersise. Good Luck

ok the you burn 1717 basal calories and 773 lifestyle calories a day. (basal basicaly means the calories you burn just by living and lifestyle is things like taking a shower, brushing your teeth, or anything else you do everyday). So I wouldn't go below 1500 - 1600 calories a day - but only until you are off your diet. That is what the scientists are saying anyway.

what do you mean screw them don't gop to low, alex??? that is too low- you're not supposed to go under 1000 because it'll hurt your metabolism and it would be sad to see her get on that diet lose all the weight and then she'll get off and gain it even faster because she's screwed up her metabolism...

I think 800 is way too little an amount of calories!! What are your stats, how much do you want to lose? You don't need to cut down to 800 a day, that's too little.

ok, screw what they say, 800 calories is fine, just don't go too low, i would advise eating a multi vitamen pill in the morning, this way, you don't gain weight, but still have the vitamens for the day

No i don't think you should cut back that much because that could be dangerous and i am on a 1500 calorie a day diet it is better than about starving your self. Because 800 calories is like eating 4 dounts.Well don't hurt your self. Don't forget fat is beautiful.

Whoa, 800 Cal? That is so little! Calories are energy, and just by breathing you burn calories, so, you're gunna be really tired by the end of the day. I suggest,
slowly lowering your calorie intake by i say 500 cal. So if you take 3000 cal a day, you would just be taking 2500, which is a good normal amount. Make your goal to be around 2100. ***Don't lower your Cal intake any lower that 1600, because its bad.

I cut down to 500 calories a day and just really drank water a lot and I lost weight really fast but If you don't stick with it you will gain it all back so it's up to you! Good Luck *Marie*
