there is nothing wrong with a family (your dad) member being gay i know its not the same but my aunts is a lesbian and shes not ashamed of it and im not ashamed of her its just the type of ppl she likes is all i mean your dad shouldnt be ashamed of it and you should deffinatly not be ashamed of your dad he is a human being like everyone else and he has feelings he is just like everybody else only he like a different kind of sex. I mean I know ppl that my aunt is friends that are gay/lesbians or have or has been with and i dont think they are different from anyone else. treat him like you would treat him b/4 you found out he was gay. you should let him know you are ok with it and your not ashamed of him. i hope this info helps...

oh and to paige- it's fine that your father's gay. he probably is having a harder time dealing with it than anyone else in your family. he's been struggling with it his whole life being "wrong"(not my opinion but society's) i think that it would help you and be cool if you joined a gay straight alliance if your school has one or go to some gay or lesbian speakers to learn how it has effected them and to know what your father must feel like when he grew up. he probably was in denial and that's why he could have married your mother. also- remember that there are different kinds of love and your father still probably loved your mother...

well, you are wrong. and i don't mean morally wrong- i mean scientifically wrong. research has shown that it is a certain chemical in your brain that people who are born gay are lacking. what's more(now this is getting into the morally wrong stuff) they are finding how to eject the fetus with it if it is detected early on to be lacking such a chemical. i learned it in my Psychology class yesterday.

I dont knw how you will deal with it but I wuld probably be crazy no offense but its hard finding out that your father who helped u come on this earth is gay and likes other men. I mean your mom must be feeling worse then you are. And those of you who think that homosexuality is something that is biological your wrong, its a choice and studies have not proven that its biological. All i can say to you is try to speak to someone let your emotions out.

well, if ur dads gay then he is, its really not something to be ashamed of. if people have a problem with it thats being imature. if it bugs you, then just forget about it, alot of people are gay, but there still real people. is your dad cool? my gay friend is nicer then most straight soo.... it matters if he is ashamed of it, if he is then he'll be meaner. you can write about it in a journal if your not sure how you feel. good luck. *~AmY~*
