Reply from Jenna, Age 16 - 11/27/03 - IP#: 64.12.96.xxx Hey!! I know you can achieve your goal if you really try. You will have to start off slow though. I really suggest going on the Atkins diet. My friend weighed 337 pounds when she started and she is now at 197 a year later! She lost 39 pounds the first month!! I know if she can do this then you can too! Follow the meal plans and you will do great. I know from experience that it is hard to exercise when you are overweight so try doing little things first. Like cleaning your house acouple times a week, taking the dog for a walk up the street, or go to the mall. One of my friends had to go on diet pills because her doctor strongly recommended them. They were approved by the FDA also. They cost alot of money but you should ask your mother about them because they can change your life with diet and exercise. Good luck!!!
Reply from Melissa, Age 14 - 11/27/03 - IP#: 24.107.4.xxx Try to cut everything you eat in half. Eeat slowly through meals and if that doesnt work, try the blindfold technique. Blindfold yourself while you eat. You'll find that you eat less because you dont see the food. Stick to low-fat recipes and foods. Veggies are really good and so is fruit. Try not to eat more than 6 oz of meat a day and eat whole wheats instead of white bread. If you dont already, use only skim milk. You can start by edging down from whole to 2% to 1% to skim. Drink alot of water but dont force it in you, you dont want to get sick. And if you can, try doing tae-bo. I just started it a couple of days ago and i already feel the work in me and i cant wait to do it everyday. Good Luck and keep us posted on how youre doing!!
Reply from anne, Age 16 - 11/27/03 - IP#: 216.66.108.xxx i think that that goal is entirely possible! i bet that if you start now you could lose that in about 2 or 2.5 years! ok- well- if it's really hard for you to exersize then you'll have to shed some pounds before you add that into your plan. what i think you should do is change things little by little. if you're one of those people(like i used to be) that conatantly eats and always has to be full to be satisfied then you should just start filling up on better foods with less calories at first and work on portion control later. you should fill up a lot on veggies because they have the less calories and you can make them taste good by frying them up and adding seasoning and stuff. cut out mao and butter from your diet. drink as much water as you can which will also keep you full and give your skin a beautiful glow and help push on your metabolism. when you want to eat candy only eat hard candy and suck on it. because hard candy is a lot less calories then soft candy and it lasts longer- but don't eat too much of it! set aside some that you can eat a day and don't go over that limit- just spread it throughout the day. oh and like mel h. said instead of ince cream either get sugar free icecream(tastes just the same but has a lot less calories my mom eats it on the atkins plan) or like she said get fruit popsicles that have a lot less calories. another really good sweet alternative is lolly pops having a chocolate one always helps tame my choco. craving and they're only 80 calories if they're tootsi lolly pops! ok well- sorry for rambling but i really hope that you do well and i hope that i helped and good luck! ps- for counting calories you can use www.caloriesperhour.com

I lost 6 lbs the first week... btw i was 300 lbs at one point... then i got down to 285.5 and now I am 279.5.
