I am a 14 year old anorexic boy, i have lost a lot of weight in the past 5 months, but this is not the route to take..... believe me, i have never felt this unhappy in my life, and even though i am underweight, i still want to lose more. i am roughly 91 lbs, but i still want to lose weight. I have taken the wrong road, make sure that you dont! even though, i do know how to help you loose weight, but in a much more healthy way than i have achieved it. SLOWLY & STEADILY, that is the best way to lose weight and to keep it off. Ignore fad diets such as the atkins high protein low carb diet, these can make you loose weight, but 66% of the time it is gained back... and im sure that you dont want that!! Think of your energy (Calorie) intake as it stands at the moment... is it excessive? or do you feel it is adequate? how many calories you need differs in people, especially in puberty, and how far into the stage you are. also energy expenditure (excercise) may have an impact on your calorie needs, (ie) a person who is very active would need more calories to maintain their weight than a person who is relativly unactive who would need less to maintain their weight. But you want to loose weight not maintain it, and the best way to do that is by reducing energy intake(eat less... but not too much less as it would the affect the metabolism which could result in weight gain!!) & by excersising more-------------- reduce calorie intake by what you feel reasonable, if posibal by 500, reduce fat as much as possibal, and increase your excercise, but doing different types of excercise (ie) go for a jog(15 mins if posibal) afterwards some abdominal excersises, such as sit ups, pull ups and crunches, and then on another day vary your routine, (ie) go swimming instead of jogging. (etc) I excercise regularly evry day, but that is another of my obsesive tendancies---- we dont want you to become obsesed, just healthy, and happy in your body. for best results, try excercising evry 2nd day, and inbetween partake in some light walking, but nothing heavy. Remember, that beauty does not mean skinny, and overweight does not mean ugly!! remember to just try your best, and there is guaranteed to be slip ups and bad days, but it is important to not give up, and to believe in yourself, but most importantly, remember not to get obsessive, it is easier than you think... that is where i went wrong and i am not in a happy place at the moment, so just remember to maintain self control!! you canemail me if you would like to have any questions answered, and i would love to hear how this programme is going for you (presuming you chose it!!) my address is: smithray@unison.ie good luck!!!

Try the South Beach Method. It's the first effective general weight loss plan that works for teens. It's a heck of a lot better than atkins and more effective and strict than Weight Watchers. Try it out, I've ordered the book.
