Ok! When I was 12 I weighed 210. Now I weigh 160 and I am almost 14! You have hope. Don't worry what people think about you.

Clare is right. You can't drop that many calories, it isn't safe!!! Please don't go on that diet for ur sake. But do run the mile, that is a good plan, but i would gradually build up to it. If you go right into the mile ur first time u could hurt ur self, b/c ur body isn't used to it. I wouls start walking for 20 min. for a couple days, then walk faster (almost a jog) for a copuple days, then jog, for a few days, then do all of that before you run, as ur warm up, when you do get to the point when you can run. Also another good thing to do is split the time u r on the tredmill. do like 15 min in the morning, and like 15/ 20 min at nite, that will also help you lose weight faster. And one more thing (I know this is a lot) vary ur exersie. Do stuff on the tredmill every other day. And every day that u r not on the tredmill, work ur upper body. (Do not do any exercises with ur legs casue they got a work out on the tredmill and they need to rest.) But do like sit-ups and stuff like that, and maintain a healthy diet, and u will be well on ur way to weight loss!!!

Hi Lauren
Your weight goals are good and so is your plan to run but 800 calories per day isn't enough. If you eat under 1000 calories per day your body will go into 'famine' mode. What happens is the body thinks that it is being starved so your metabolism will slow down. When you start eating a more normal amount of food again your body will store this extra food as fat, and although you lost weight quickly whilst on the diet you will probably gain weight fairly rapidly once you come off of the diet.
The best thing to do is to exercise sensibly and try and stick to about 1500 calories per day. If you do this you will be getting enough calories so that your body isn't starving but you should still lose weight. Try not to eat the cookies and icecream too often but don't deprive yourself of them completely. If you completely deprive yourself of treats you will begin to crave them and this may result in you eating loads in one go.
