Muscle does weigh more than fat. Sarah said that one pound of muscle would be more compact - that is why it weighs more. Per volume not weight muscle weighs more. Don't be discouraged, losing weight is a slow process! have patience good luck

I just want to say that whoever replied to this and said muscle weighs more than fat was wrong. Muscle weighs less than fat. so if you had a pound of fat and a pound of muscle, you would have way more muscle that can compound into a smaller portion of your body. Much smaller than the amount of room fat takes up. So keep up with what your doing, and soon you should see results plus a toner body! good luck!

9 hours a week?!?! no wonder you're gaining weight, no doubt it's muscle! be proud, gaining muscle will help you in the future because muscle mass burns calories and the more muscle you have, the more cals you burn!

Sounds to me like you're gaining weight because you are gaining muscle. If you are sore the next day after a work out, then you are gaining muscle, and of course, muscle weighs more than fat, so don't worry about it. It will aid in weight loss in the future! =D.
