i am probably the least motivated person that i know. but this is what i did, i took a look in that dreaded mirror and said to myself "shannon, you only live once, is this the way you want to live your life?" and then i slapped myself and said "hey, guess what, i don't really give a rat's behind what anyone thinks of me, as long as i am in the healthy weight range." or something of that sort. the bottom line is, the way that i kept myself motivated food wise--is i only really eat stuff that sits good on my stomach and doesn't make me feel like i am going to puke--which includes most of the fried/fattening foods. my parents had to go on a diet because of my dad having a heart attack also, so there's obviously no fattening foods in my house. exercise wise--i made up my OWN exercise plan, to where i wouldn't get burnt out so easily. i do just a little something each day at least, so that way i feel as if i am doing SOMETHING. like, with lifting weights, i don't HAVE to have a certain number of reps or whatever, (sometimes i do just to have a routine tho), i basically just do them until i feel tired or feel as if i have done enough (or really worked myself). let me tell you something, i am probably the laziest person out there with the least amount of confidence in myself, so if I can do it margo, then YOU certainly can. as far as your "beautiful" friends go, i know what you mean. most of my best friends are skinnier than me. so actually, when i am with them, it makes me feel better sometimes, because i know i look different than them. it makes me stick out or whatever. being different is something i strive for. anyways, that'll give you something to think about. the bottom line is, when you want to lose weight, DON'T SET CERTAIN GOALS! i certainly didn't. if you take it slow and do it YOUR way and not someone else's way, you may just surprise yourself. let me know what you think. my email is implodingvoice7@yahoo.com
