One thing a lot of larger children have problems with is acceptance by themselves and their peers. To a lot of younger people on this board, it gets easier. I have lost some weight, but I still believe if I hadn't, things (socially)would have still gotten better for me. I know that a lot of people pick on you. Right now I have a boyfriend who loves me, lots of friends, and a happy social life. Just because you are bigger than most kids doesn't mean you have to stay holed up in your room all weekend. Get out and enjoy life. Have fun. That's what being a kid is all about.

I disagree. I'm almost 200 pounds and I'm 5'4" I'm also the most popular girl in school and at my school your judged by how athletic you are, how you dress, how you wear your make-up and how you act around boys. Of corse I got perfect 10's in each so I'm still really popular even thou I'm really overweight.

i agree. i know some one who is very over weight in my school, but she is so popular! she doesn't feel sorry for her self being over weight. she goes out there and join clubs and meet new people. she is very funny and has a great personality wich is why she is so popular. so if u just go out there and give it your best (i know it kinda sounds lame but i can't think of anything eles) then life would great.
