Hi everyone. I am 13, and I weigh 230 pounds. I can't seem to stick to a diet. I aam currently skipping breakfast, and only eating a little bit of trail mix at lunch. Then I eat a regular supper, and once in a while, a snack. Is this an ok diet? Will I get any results this way? All I seem to be doing is gaining even more weight. Last year I could fit into size 16s, now I'm in plus sizes. I hate it. My best friend's much bigger than me, but all the rest of my friends are skinny. What I wouldn't give to look like them!

NEVER EVER SKIP BREAKFAST! and no.. u are so NOT allowed to eat supper. because when u are in a sleepy state... ur body burns fat slower.. which means you gain TWICE the fat. Snacks are ok if you are not gorging yourself on fried chicken wings or icecream or whatever.
I suggest fruit juice with a slice of white bread(nothing on it)

Breakfast is the worst meal for you to skip!!!! Eating first thing in the morning jumpstarts your metabolism, therefore you'll be burning more calories... and eventually you'll not only wiegh less, you'll also have more energy.

I know it is hard, i have experienced it all. But what i have learned over the years is that skipping breakfast is the worst possible thing u could be doing. The reason for this is that by eating breakfast your metabolism is sped up for the rest of the food that you eat during the day. And just in case you don't know, your metabolism plays a major role in whether you gain or lose weight. Plus, if you don't have breakfast, you end up hungrier at the end of the say and as a result you tend to eat more food and stuff you don't need. It is best to spread your meals evenly over the day. A key tip is to have six small meals a day instead of three big ones. And in the middle meals eat healthy foods like fruit and milk. And don't forget, exercise will also help you lose weight, all you have to do if something which you enjoy, like maybe dancing, playing basketball etc. In no time you will begin to see a difference and above all you will feel healthier!! GOOD LUCK!! and if you need any more advice or of you need to ask questions just email me on pigeon_meaner@hotmail.com I would love to hear how you go :)

I know how you feel about breakfast because I never eat breakfast but it is supposed to be healthier to eat breakfast. If you are still gaining then you need to change what you are doing. If the normal meal is like loads of fat and calories all in one go and at the wrong time of the day then you probably won't lose weight. Try and plan to eat lots of smaller meals or snacks spread out throughout the day but make a note of how many calories everything is. If you find that you are eating like thousands of calories a day then of course you won't lose weight. I stuck to about 1200 to 1400 calories a day and lost 20 pounds but over a period of about 4 months. The best way is to try and lose weight steadily and not do anything too drastic because if you do that then the weight will just go back on again very quickly.

You shouldn't skip a meal. You don't get all the nutrins that are necessary for weight lose or just a normal diet. By Skipping a meal (expessally breakfast)you are not geting things like fiber and protien. It is also not safe to eat that little amount of calories. When you eat trail mix make your own don't buy ones that are already packaged.
