Paige, congratulations on starting your journey to a healthier you!! And welcome to this site. I've used it sporadically since I was 17 and let me tell you, it's encouraging to see mini and major goals other people like you are reaching...I wish I would've stuck to posting regularly on here when I was your age because I'd probably be down to my goal weight. Ah well, live and learn =).
Your sister is right. If you think of it as a diet, eventually you're going to get sick of depriving yourself and start binging. If you take this slow and steady and realize you're doing it for the future, bigger picture, then you'll be more likely to stick with the changes you're making.
Instead of saying you don't love yourself as you are, say 'I don't like how I look and what I feel like at 200 pounds, but I'm going to change that (in a healthy way!) and love myself through it all'.
I won't wish you good luck because weight loss is not about luck...it's about perseverance, strong will and dedication to your lifestyle change. So stay strong!!!
