Ht. 5'9", Start: 215 lb, Today: 194 lb (BMI %tile: 93), Goal: 150 lb - My doctor recommended I try buying clothes a few sizes too small and trying them on to see how much weight I've lost and to get some motivation. I'm looking for suggestions of what size to aim for. I'm currently size 16-18 in pants, and medium shirts are a little tight on my belly. (I carry most of my weight in my thighs and stomach.) Should I try for size 12 pants?

Part of the problem with old clothes is that I don't have many smaller than my size now. I haven't been in the 190s since I was about 13. I'm going to find a new pair of cute pants today, though!

its nice to fit into new clothes...but its also good to have a goal for yourself and maybe those new jeans your eyeing go ahead and buy them...it will give you motivation to fit in them...its differnt trying to lose weight for a new pair of jeans youve never worn then an old pair you used to wear...even tho that is an accomplishment you might feel more motivated withsomething new...so i say go for it!!

Don't you have your old clothes still there? My cupboard is full of clothes which have gotten too tight for me. I don't need to buy them!
