Honey, I'm your height, your age, but...I weigh 30 pounds more than you do! Honestly, you are at my goal weight. :-/ But, depending on whether your large, small, or medium boned, you may still look fat. Wrap your thumb and middle finger around your wrist. If your fingers touch (just those two) you are medium boned. If they overlap, you are small-boned. If they don't touch, you are large-boned.

listen- if you just focus on maintaining your weight through exercising at least 4 times a week, within maybe a year or two, you will look amazing because you will have grown taller and stayed the same weight, and be fit! So, instead of cutting calories, you should focus on eating more fruits and veggies, and working out regularly. I bet you still look great even now. I remember when I was a little older than you and 140lbs, I thought I was fat. Now I am 221lbs and look back at those pictures and wish I looked as thin as I did then. Most of my weight has actually come from yo-yo dieting. imagine that! Don't mess with your metabolism, only try to boost it for a lifetime of healthy weight!

Here's the thing Jeanie - no matter how much you want to, you CANNOT constantly compare yourself to your friends/others around you. If you do that, you are never going to be happy with who you are (spoken from tons of personal experience). You need to do what you feel is right for you and your body, not what you 'think' you should look like, etc. Believe me, I get it. I get being dissatisfied with your body when everyone around you seems to be stick thin. Eventually though, in order for you to grow into a young woman with a healthy self-esteem, you're going to need to learn to be happy with who YOU are, EXACTLY as you are. Now, I'm not saying that if you feel unhappy with your body weight you should stay there just because 'that's who you are'. If you truly believe that you could lead a healthier, happier life by losing a few pounds, then by all means, do it, but make sure you do it RIGHT!!! I cannot stress that more. There is nothing worse for your body then the constant, on/off-again 'crash dieting'. You need to make a choice to change your eating and exercise habits, such as, no eating after a certain time of night, eating 3 well-balanced meals, going for a walk 2-3x a week, etc. This way, you'll be losing weight in the right way. If you're serious about wanting to lose weight (in a healthy way), ask your parents if you can make an appointment with your doctor or a dietician who can show you what foods are most beneficial for your body. Whatever you do, don't ever look down on yourself for being 'different' from your friends - you have just as much going for you as they do =D. Good luck!!!!

DO NOT stop eating! Just make better choices! Eat lots of fruits & veggies. Try grilled chicken instead of fried, fish is also great. Try taking daily walks with your friends if possible. Play basketball, just by shooting around burns a nice amount of calories. Go swing! Go as high as you can! Hey I'm 20 years old and I was doing it the other day when I took my kids to the park, lol I love the playground, haha. YOU CAN DO IT! Don't accept failure, Jeanie. Keep at it and the weight will gradually come off, trust me.
