Ht. 5'4", Start: 210 lb, Today: 177 lb (BMI %tile: 94), Goal: 150 lb - Hey Dudes. Who here is a fan of the TV show THe Biggest Loser? I am in love with that show. BOB is amazing and I wish he was my trainer but that's never gonna happen so anyway..lol here's a question. If you watch every week like I do, you'll see that the contestants weigh in every week on the big scale. Some lost 20 lbs and some like like 15 and stuff. I jsut wanted to know how do they lose so much in one week? I know they exercise their heads off but I thought that wasn't possible to lose so much in a week. Hope you all are doing great.

Rachel, they aren't "hardly eating any calories." I met Jillian Michaels, have her email, and talk to her around once a month, not to mention I listen to her radio show every Sunday, and she said that depending on the contestant's weight, they eat between 14000 and 2000 calories.

A lot of it is water weight. Also, they are exercising HOURS a day and hardly eating any calories. It's really not healthy unless under strict supervision by a doctor. I wouldn't suggest trying to emulate it. I love that show though!

I LOVE THE BIGGEST LOSER!
i think its because the people on there are so big. when your bigger, you lose more weight and its easier. once they start getting skinnier and skinnier, their weight loss results will get smaller and smaller. so basically it depends on how big you are.

A lot of it is water weight, and yes it is possible. They eat between 1200 and 2000 calories depending on the person, but with the amount of exercise they do, (on average 6 hours a day)they're burning more than a pound (3500 cals) a day.
