oh, and btw- i once went from 175 to 140 (in high school), and now i'm at 204 (used to be 215), so, i'm more of a failure than you are. but, i think we need to not give up, just explore different avenues while still working out our mental issues with food and keeping our bodies healthy. people overcome this everyday, we can be success stories too if we keep pushing ourselves!

hey claire. I know you've been having a tough time getting off your plateau. have you tried carb-cycling? it's where you go low carb for a week, then start switching between low carb(a lot of protein, veggies) and higher carb days (healthy carbs, of course, like fruits and whole grains). it's in the new "First" magazine. so far, it's been working for me. i hope it keeps working when i start switching. basically, it's to prevent ketosis while still using up your glycogen stores so that you burn more fat than muscle.

I got down to 159...until I gave up midway and started neglecting exercise and eating right! I feel like a failure and now I'm not losing a single thing! I worked so hard and I just slapped myself in the face by gaining 18 back! thats what gets me the most.

You're doing well. I know sometimes its easy to get frustrated by a bad day or string of bad days; however, you've lost 34 pounds already and that's something to celebrate and keep going with. Just refocus and do the best you can the rest of tonight and tomorrow. Take it one day at a time and soon it'll add up. We didn't wake up one morning at this size and we sure won't wake up one morning as a size 2 (I hope not because, for my sake, if I was 6' and a size 2 I don't think I could walk...or be alive). Anyways, you're doing great. Keep doing what you've been doing and you'll see success.
