Ht. 5'0'', Wt. 150 - I ate about 1200 calories today, pushed my 30 lb cousin in the stroller for two miles, biked mostly uphill for 3 miles, and played tennis for an hour and a half, but I feel really icky because about 300 of my 1200 calories were junk food that I didn't NEED to eat. I am having a hard time saying no! At this rate, will I be able to lose 7-10 lbs in 10 weeks? Its so hard to stay focused long term!

Every day you need a certain amount of calories to fel your body and when you walk you burn 100 calories per mile so if you walk 3 miles and your body needs 1200 calories to function then the 300 calories that you burnt will be replaced by the fat. So you do not have to worry about the way that you used your 1200 calories as long as you walked and burned the 300 calories of that were transmitted into fat. It takes 3500 calories to make one pound so if you eat an extra 3500 calories a week than you will gain a pound but if you walk 35 miles a week you will lose a pound. I know that 35 miles seems like alot but it isn't if you break it up into smaller incraments. Don't stress about the bad stuff be proud that you ate the good stuff and that should be enough. A good idea is to look at the fiber because if there is alot of fiber than you will just crap it out later...lol. Remember you have friends here who can help you and to stick to your goal. You CAN do it!!!!

What I do to reduce my cravings is brushing my teeth or chewing gum. You'll stay away from the food and freshin your breath at the same time!
