is 3-5 lbs a week ok?

Believe it or not, it is recomended that you lose no more than 1-2 pounds per week for healthy weight loss. If you lose more than that each week, it could be muscle(eek!) or water weight.
Of course, during the first couple weeks of losing weight, you may lose more since your body is experiencing total change in it's routine and everything. But after that, 1-2 pounds is better.

hi amanda, losing 1-2 lbs a weeks is considered healthy. losing too fast is not healthy and often causes the weight to be jsut gained back after the diet is over. be sure to make a smart decision! good luck!
