Ht. 5'3", Start: 362 lb, Today: 362 lb, Goal: 120 lb - Okay, so first off I'm not the overweight one... I'm here to get help. The stats there... 342 pounds is the weight of my twelve year old sister, Jessica. She wasn't always so big, but she started putting on weight very quickly at age 8, when our father left our mom. I love her so much, andit tears me apart to see her like this. She just eats and eats, and it's really taking a toll on her. She's obviously having a lot of trouble getting around, and she's still getting bigger! I don't know what to do. I've talked to my mother about it, but she just makes excuses and says "She's going through a rough time in her life. Just let her be." My mom has been severely depressed since my father left and in this matter I don't think she'll be of any help, because she just lets Jessie eat whatever the heck she wants. I've attempted to talk to Jessie about it myself, but she's a very sweet and sensitive girl and it upsets her. I've given up on trying to talk to her, because I know she's aware she needs to lose weight, but she doesn't know how. I know it hurst her. And it hurts me to just see her get bigger and bigger and there's not much I can do to stop it. Before I know it she'll weigh 400 pounds. She'll be too big to move! I'm begging you for advice. Please, how can I help her?

Jeremy, I feel terrible for your sister. It is so awesome that you care so much about your sister. I wish my brother and sister cared about me... Well anyway, does she go on this website? If she does, please reply back to me. I would love to talk to her. She and I have so much in common. We can talk in the chatroom. Please let me know. I need a weightloss buddy too. My two best friends have divorced parents and they were on the same path. They are still loosing weight with me. Anyway, if I can, I would love to help. Love and best wishes, Jessica.

hey i thought i was over weight with all my skinny frinds but then i thought it was time to take control. Get her acted in sports and dont rush her take steps at a time and if you want to help her walk with her not far take one step at a time i bet she will be in shape before you know it and dont confront her because it makes her probably feel like (fine i will eat more) well thats how i felt when my skinny brother told me that because my brother a while back was fat but then he stared play football as me i did the same i staded playing softball and i hope your sister gets healthier but dont rush her thats the main thing.

Hey, man. By the way that your going on here it really seems like you care about your sister, which is pretty cool. maybe you can start by doing some small things with her to start the exercising. Like walking around the mall , do some sightseeing around town, things that will help her to get interested. If you do some daily exercises each day then by at least 2 weeks , i think , you will see some differences mentally , phyiscally , or both. But don't rush into the healthy eating part, you got to ease into it. talk to your mom to letting it be a family thing if you want to . And in order for her to stay with it , she got to know that somebody got her back. Reward her when she stays with something for a particular time . Like a manicure set or a piece of small jewelry, things that she likes . If you want to talk to me more then email me at allstar830@msn.com . Hope it helps you a bit.
