~REPLY WRITING AREA~

Before you post a reply saying that your child is overweight or that you want them to lose weight, please first check our Weight Calculator. If the calculator says that your child is healthy weight, please do not post a message saying that they are overweight or that you want them to lose weight.  This offends the kids who really are overweight.  Thanks a lot.

From Judy, child's age 12

my Daughter Emery has an extremely rare condition to where her body thinks she’s starving. Because her body is under the impression she’s starving it keeps EVERYTHING. Her brain is also constantly sending out signals that she’s hungry which leads to constant stomache pain unless she eats. We used to try so hard to keep it under control but her dad died last year in car crash (hit by drilling driver) ever since her dad died things have been really hard for everyone. I’ve stopped really trying and my daughter has turned to food. The pounds keep packing on and I won’t lie that she’s huge. It’s not her fault at all, so I don’t blame her. We keep only healthy food in the house aside from a box of oatmeal raisin cookies that we keep locked away and are eaten as special treats on fridays. She wears men’s shirts and exercise is really really hard with her body. No one at school teases he because her school is small (40 kids in each grade) and everybody knows about the medical reasons. A few years ago things got out of hand and she had surgery to help her but after only a year and a half she gained it back again. The doctors say all we can do is have her eat healthy and exercise which we do. Instead of taking art, music and pe. She takes pe twice a day. As for her eating limitingbis hard because of her brain which is constantly sending those signals which put her in immense pain. I know a very similar thing happened to a girl in Texas and she ended up having gastric bypass which is not and option for us (do to other medical conditions) I Just don’t know what to do. I love my little girl but I need HELP.
