~REPLY WRITING AREA~

Before you post a reply saying that your child is overweight or that you want them to lose weight, please first check our Weight Calculator. If the calculator says that your child is healthy weight, please do not post a message saying that they are overweight or that you want them to lose weight.  This offends the kids who really are overweight.  Thanks a lot.

From Lisa, child's age 13

My daughter Sydney is 13, she is 5"4 and weighs in at about 160 pounds. She is active and has a lot of muscle but her stomach and breast (middle) area is VERY large. She is a bridesmaid in my sister, her aunts wedding that's coming up this September and we just did dress measurements, she came out to be a size 27 so we have to get her dress somewhere else because the bridal shop everyone else is getting theirs from does not carry that size. She wears size women's 24 pants, but they are way to tight on her, creating red marks and when she wears them you can clearly see the bulge of fat that shows through her triple x-l women's shirt. She wears a 42-DD but it is also, tight on her. Because of her depression with all of this, I simply can not get her to stop eating. No, I'm not a horrible mother, I don't want her to stop eating, but she needs to stop shoveling it in. I buy less food, and we only eat healthy, but I keep finding secret stashes of candy and fast food in her room. Also, I was wondering if it is normal for her to be holding her stomach when she walks. I asked her what she was doing once. Now, I think I should mention that her stomach hangs down quiet far, down to the middle/top of her thighs. She tells me that when she holds it up when she walks it takes some of the weight off of her feet. Any ideas on how I can help my daughter?
