PARENTS BULLETIN BOARD

~REPLY WRITING AREA~

Before you post a reply saying that your child is overweight or that you want them to lose weight, please first check our Weight Calculator. If the calculator says that your child is healthy weight, please do not post a message saying that they are overweight or that you want them to lose weight.  This offends the kids who really are overweight.  Thanks a lot.

If you are an adult and not a parent, type your child's age as '0'

From Candy, child's age 0

HI, I am not a parent of an overweight child but I would like your advice! I am a trainee clinical Psychologist in the UK and I am about to do some research into childhood obesity; parents persepective. I am taking a non-blaming, sensitive approach to this research. It is not about value judgements but rather a want to understand and represent the views of parents of an overweight child; whether they see it as a problem or not. I understand this is a sensitive topic for some and wonder how I can best engage parents to take part in this research. What do you think? I would greatly appreciate any input, positive or negative. Candy
