If the calculator says that your child is healthy weight, please do not post a message saying that they are overweight or that you want them to lose weight.  This offends the kids who really are overweight.  Thanks a lot.

From Julie, child's age 12

Hi everyone. I just found this site. My son is 12 and weighs 192. He's had major health issues for a while which seems to have started the weight gain (he used to be really skinny) - he had a kidney disorder and feeling badly started that vicious cycle. He had the kidney removed last week and we're joining weight watchers together this weekend. We're also going to get access to our apartments workout room once the doctor gives him the okay for exercise. He's got a long way to go and he seems excited about it, but I'm afaid as soon as it gets hard, he's going to quit.
