Before you post a reply saying that your child is overweight or that you want them to lose weight, please first check our Weight Calculator. If the calculator says that your child is healthy weight, please do not post a message saying that they are overweight or that you want them to lose weight.  This offends the kids who really are overweight.  Thanks a lot.

If you are an adult and not a parent, type your child's age as '0'

From Joan, child's age 16

Hi everyone, I have a 16 year old girl who is 5'7 and roughly 180lbs. She gained the bulk of her weigh over the past 6 months or so, since i started working again and she has the ability to eat at home while I'm not there. Her gaining the weight doesn't bother me as much as the way she's handled it. As much as I offer she won't buy any bigger cloths, and insists on wearing extrememly tight outfits and just lets her stomach stick out. What confuses me is that she doesn't seem to care at all. Anyone else have this trouble? How can a young girl not try to hide the fact that she became overweight? Thanks, Joan
