Before you post a reply saying that your child is overweight or that you want them to lose weight, please first check our Weight Calculator. If the calculator says that your child is healthy weight, please do not post a message saying that they are overweight or that you want them to lose weight.  This offends the kids who really are overweight.  Thanks a lot.

From Nova, child's age 7

Hello, I'm a stepmother of a 7 year old boy who is 3'11" and 62 pounds. At age 5 he was 65 pounds. It's been a struggle to keep his weight between 60-65 pounds. My thoughts have been that he could grow into his weight. However the struggle mainly stems from his grandparents and aunt and uncle whom he spends a lot of time with. I have talked to them many times about the importance of good healthy eating habbits, but they just don't seem to listen. They feed him food as though he is an adult man as well as unlimited amounts of high fat and sugar snacks. He has gained as much as 3-4 pounds in a one week visit with them. Any suggestions on how I can either accept this or get them to work with me instead of against me?
