Don't do aitkins because that can seriously hurt kids. the best way to do it is to cut out pop completely. Well I really think the absolute best is to excercise and to eat healthy

I've heard a lot about the low carb thing and i also heard that once you quit doing it you gain all the weight back. Is that true? I don't want to have to restric carbs for the rest of my life. I think Im just going to try low calories and exercise the old fashion way. lol. But WAY TO GO!

Most "diet" pills and powders don't work like they are advertised. They might help you not be so hungry, but they don't "melt the fat off you" or "speed up your metabolism 2x". There are so many rip-offs considering diets and weight today...
At the supermarket, while my mom was checking out, I saw a magazine that advertised: "lose 20 lbs in 20 minutes!" That is physically impossible, no matter what you do (unless you use surgery). I would focus more on exercise and portion control.. that usually works better.
Good luck!

I really dont think this whole grapefruit diet I am hearing about is a good idea. You arent going to get anytyhing of your nutrients. I was anorexic last year for about 6 months and this diet ur doing snt much of a step up. I have been eating healthy and drinking lotsa water. I also do tae-bo, heres a hint dont go on a diet for a target weight, go on a diet and set a target body. Its much easier to see the results in a mirror instead of a scale. Good luck. I hope I didnt sound like a snot, but it worries me to see you guys fasting and stuff.

That worked for Warriors, yes. But exactly how many warriors are there out there in modern society? If you, my dear, dear friend, do go out and chase your food, hunt it down, and eat it, I say, by all means, go ahead. But if that's so, I fail to see why you'd be overweight in the first place. It's just about eating what's right. And I'm sure that you know the differnce between good foods and bad foods.

Everyone is on a diet, sweet heart. A diet consists of everything that you eat. But if you mean a controlled eating regimen, you can be certain that someone else in your school is on one too. Even the thinnest girls go on diets-not all are anorexic or throw up all their food. Dancers especially, have strict diets so that they can stay iin shape.
On a different note, the slimfast diet is not all that succesful, and not that healthy either. Processed meals and nutrition shakes that substitute for a meal generally lack the nutrients provided by food. Your best bet, for losing weight, is to eat all foods in healthy portions. If your mother is a conscious eater, ask her to make your food for you. Eat a half-peice of meat instead of a whole. One serving of meat should be no bigger that the diameter of your closed fist. There's a lot of information out there, but it's often about finding ... (view more)

yes but unless you want to live on it forever, you'll gain all your weight back. You need to change your entire eating habit to lose weight and keep it off.

i have tried fasting in fact i always use it to loose weight quickly however you have to be motivated and have the will power to keep going . it is not effective usually cause no matter how much you try to loose it will come straight back on when you start to eat normal again. cutting back is more effective exercise and healthy eating take it from someone who has been there done that

Well fasting is not all bad if you do it right...i fast for religious reasons and i find that ive lost about 5lb's in like a week and a half...it all depends on how you eat...like me when were fasting were supposed to eat like in the morning like at 5am like a light meal..full of fiber and stuff thatll sustain u for the rest of the day and we break our fast like at 5pm and ur not supposed to over eat...i usually eat a small meal with alot veggies...and around 7 i usually exercise and i dont eat after that...im never usually hungry...but i dont do this everyday...its just a month that we do it...after that i come back to my normal eating habits..so fasting is not bad as long as u do it RIGHT...but its not something that u shuld do all the time

the atkins diet really isnt a good idea! some people dont even lose ANY weight on it!! and even if u do lose weight quickly u wont keep eating like that for the rest of ur life and as soon a su start eatin normal u put all the weight bk on if not more!! i dont want to dishearten u but all im sayin is that if u eat a healthy balanced diet and u exercise daily then u willlose weight just as fast and will keep it off!!!!!

I've tried that and I wouldn't recommend it. Although it will help a little it will make you want to eat a lot more at dinner time, basically defeating the purpose. Try cutting down one meal and not eating too much at the other 2. Good luck!

ok, i asked my mum about atkins diet and she looked on the internet an heres wat she found. it says the atkins diet can be bad for kids cuz it can hurt ur kidneys and makes fatty stuff in ur blood that can clogg ur arteries an gives u heart disease. and u cant eat fruit or grains which u need for vitemins and health. also gives u bad breath . and u gotta do it forever or u gain the weihgt back. heres the web stuff   http://heartdisease.about.com/library/weekly/aa082603a.htm  http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/features/atkins_diet_003833.htm  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=711091&dopt=Abstract

Yes atkins can be dangerous if you do it too long and u consume too many fats like meat and stuff....especially if u eat too many eggs it can give u high cholestrol when you grow up and that cholestrol will be stored in ur body and can give u complications when you grow up.....so just try to eat healthy balance ur carbs/proteins and fats....then that should be ok
