Welcome to the "I'm no longer in school and I eat cause I'm bored show...." You gained weight because there is nothing (such as your classes at school) to keep you from eating. Try doing activities with people to keep your mind off food.

if u find ur self eating cuz ur bored then throw down that food and go outside and play or do somthing active to subsatuit that food and then u wont be bored eaither

hi every 1 im not overweight but i know wat ur goin trew as i used to be overweight. plz do some exersie join a club witch do lot of action in. i do trampolinin and was tld by my friends wen i started i lost loads of weight. try askin ur frends to help get tem to helpwhen ur hungry eat but wen ur bourd dont tat wont help if u get bourd do somethink. if ur not sure if ur bourd or hungry stop and think do i really wan't some think to eat. i wish u all good luck and hope u reach ur goal weight

YOU NEED TO FIND ACTIVITIES TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME IT SEEMS LIKE YOU EAT BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOTHING TO DO INSTED OF BEING IN YOUR KITCHIN, GO OUT SIDE, TAKE A LONG DAILY WALK,THINK OF A CREATIVE HOBBY LIKE PAINTING DRAWING,YOU COULD START A MINI GARDEN,IN A PAIL OR POT, AND JUST SIT OUTSIDE AND EAT SOME THING HEALTHY AND VERY IMPORTANTLY-YOU SHOULD DRINK WATER AT LEAST 8CUPS DAILY AND IT WILL KINDA FILL YOU UP SO YOU DONT WANT TO EAT ALOT

you should find something to do when you are bored instead of eat. my sister lost 17 pounds quickly by goin on a 1500 calorie a day diet, and keeping herslef busy, she made these bracelets out of beads and sold them, ahd made a klot of money, but she kept busy and whenever she was bored she found somehting to do instead of eat. email me at groovygals123@yahoo.com

Start: 177 lb, Today: 165 lb - I'm just posting this because i'm proud, and some very simple tips. At the beginning of the summer i weighed in at 177 pounds. I hated myself, i had this huge stomach, and it was just awful. Well over the summer i decided i wanted to try to lose weight, so i just didn't eat as much. It's all about self control. Usually i gain 10 to 20 pounds over summer, that's because when i'm bored i would just eat. Well this summer i just would go do something else if i was bored, and not snack. I just weighed myself today, expecting to see 180 or something, but to my delight i saw 165! I lost 12 pounds this summer! Self control is the key.

i know the feeling. i am 12 and weigh 118 pounds wich may not seem like a lot but all my friends are like 20 pounds skinnier. it sucks. i suggest that you just really think about what you are putting into your muouth before you do. think 'am i really hungry or just bored'? only eat when you are hungry, find things sto keep you busy so you dont have to resort to eating

The first thing you need to tell your self is that you are not a pig, no matter how bad you believe it. Eating is a natural pleasure to humans, so thats why we tend to do it when we get bored. Before you pick up something to eat, ask yourself if you are really hungry or just bored. If you are hungry, dig in, but if not, go do something to get your blood flowing like use a jump rope, or go dance in your room. If you are to tired then treat yourself to a manicure or go read a magazine, anything to keep your mind away from eating. A lot of people make lists of things they like to do and when they are bored they put the list to work. You have an amazing amount of power in you, you just have to use it. Know that someone out here believes in you(corny i know but true none the less:)

Hey Kiara I get the same sometimes I mostly eat because im bored or because 'it's there' but I try to keep myself occupied by sending e-mails or reading or something. If you went for a long walk it would give you a chance to think of your progress as well as keeping your mind off food *and you will burn up calories as well* Another tip is to drink loads of water *not only is it GREAT for your hair,skin and body but it will also fill you up* Hope this helps good luck Shaz :)

i know what you mean. with all this extra time on your hands what else is there to do but mingle in front of the fridge? over the holidays this is the perfect time to test yourself, play little games with yourself. ask yourself, can i go a whole week with out eating a single bag of chips? (anything will work if you like it enough) set yourself a goal and if you reach that goal give yourself a big reward. the next week, make it harder, say, no chips and no soda and no lollies. make a big deal out of it, mark it on the calendar with a fat red marker. i played this game last holidays and it works!!!!! i didnt gain a single kilo, but i did keep exercising, so that would have played a big part, hope this works as well as it has for me with you, keep me posted

You say that you eat for fun because you're bored. Instead, try to do something else. If there's nothing to do inside, then take a walk! Listen to some music.
And when you feel hungry, you may not be. You can be dehydrated and not know it! So I'd drink a glass of ice water, and wait about 10 minutes. If you're still hungry, have a little, nutritious snack-like an apple.

You CAN help it. If the urge to indulge after school is too strong to resist, then I suggest eating something at school, even if it's snack-sized. That'll help make the urge less. Trust me, I know. I used to eat a lot after school, too. I realized it was because I was bored! My ritual was to sit down on the couch after school and watch TV until 5:00. I have a show that I like to watch on TLC at 4:00, so I'd wait for it to come on. I got bored, so I'd get food from the kitchen and bring it into the living room. Before I knew it, I'd eaten enough food to fill me up. Then supper came along and I couldn't eat that much. You know, meals are much more satisfying when you're actually hungry for them. So now I drink a lot of water when I'm watching TV so I don't eat so much. If my stomach is rumbling, though, I feed it an apple or something small like that. Let me ask you a... (view more)
