BULLETIN BOARD

~REPLY WRITING AREA~

Before you post a reply saying that you are overweight or that you want to lose weight, please first check our Weight Calculator . If the calculator says that you are healthy weight, please do not post a message saying that you are overweight or that you want to lose weight.  This offends the kids who really are overweight.  Thanks a lot.

From Janessa, Age 18

Ht. 5'7", Start: 168 lb, Today: 165 lb, Goal: 130 lb - Although my weight has never been above 168, I carry most of it around my tummy, so I look a lot heavier than I really am. A lot of people have guessed my weight to be around 195. I've just graduated from high school and I'm starting college in the Fall and now is the time for a change! I want college to be a fresh start, beginning with going in confident about the way I look. Eating right and exercising I got down to 158, but around graduation I gained 7 lbs. back. Now I'm having a hard time getting back to the healthy lifestyle I established. What's harder is both of my parents are overweight/obese and my sister is a nationally competing athelete (meaning she can eat all of the food that's made the rest of us overweight without gaining a pound, she's very muscular, thin & toned.) Neither of my parents are inclined to eat healthier and are not supporting me. Every year on January 1st, they say "This is the year it's all going to change! We're going to lose the weight!" and for 3 months, they live a healthy lifestyle. Then, one day they fall off the bandwagon and don't get back on until January 1st of the next year. Needless to say, they weight they gain back during those other 9 months more than makes up for the weight they lost. Anyway, I'm here to look for some support! Or some tips. Anything that helped or is helping you get healthy and get smaller! Does anyone else out there carry the weight like I do? I feel like I'm the only one and someday I'd like to look down and see my toes. Does anyone else have a goal like that? Not just to weigh a certain amount, or wear a certain dress size, but to be able to do something like that?
