I feel for you Melissa. Its tough to lose weight if your depressed because if your like me (225 lbs) you use food to treat your depression. But what I realised is that its a vicious circle thing because when I overeat I get more overweight and I get more depressed so I eat even more to make myself feel better and gain even more weight, get more depressed and it just gets worse. What I did to break the vicious circle was... 1) I got a dog. Hes wonderful. Hes my friend and we take walks together every day, even we jog some. That keeps me from heading for the fridge all the time and is fun exercise. 2) I been going to counseling at the mental health clinic. It doesnt cost much. My counselor talked about a antidepressent medication but I dont think I even need it now. 3) I go dancin at the community center thing every Sunday. Im shy but theres guys who are worse dancers than me... lol. 4) I went shopping with my mom and bought low-fat puddings and yummy low-fat soups. Thers lots of really great low-fat sugar-free stuff if you just look for it. ANd theres wonderful fruit I had never even tried like nectarines - I love them! 5) I been reading fiction novels, like Call of the Wild... there free at the library and I bet ur librery has them to. People on this site are really supportive and that really helps to. ANyways just find things to make you feel better that dont have to do with food. Theres lots of em. Hope I helped Melissa. - Tricia
